Waking up from my Saturday afternoon nap in time for my last CA sunset until I come back for Christmas…
It’s been much too short of a vacation. I don’t want to leave.

One of the new ‘Glee’ singles of the week, “Imagine” by John Lennon. It was very tasteful spoken word version of the song by the visiting deaf school glee club members, and the familiar glee members joined in which made for a very touch performance.
Sadly the deaf glee club members are not on the MP3 single that you can download. It’s a completely different performance of the song featuring the non-deaf ‘Glee’ club members. The ‘Glee’ producers missed a chance to release a very unique cover of “Imagine”, instead they chose to release a very by-the-numbers cover. One which is stripped of the originality that ‘Glee’ fans loved about the performance when it aired this week.
I wholeheartedly agree. While watching this week’s Glee, I sincerely hoped the single released would match what I was watching. That scene had so much heart and really said something about the beauty of simplicity, how “show biz” so many acts are and how everyone (everyone) can make art through song, dance, whatever — if the desire to do so is in them.
I’m very disappointed that what was released is a cover void of any meaning the show brought to it. The scene was so much more than what’s been released, and it’s unfortunate that the original doesn’t reflect its poignancy.

Aly and AJ - Greatest Time of Year
Yes, I know they’re one of Disney Channel’s prodigy pet projects, but I love this song. Just like N’Sync’s “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays”, it seriously puts me in a festive mood and is so appropriate for today, Thanksgiving: the beginning of the holiday season.
From now until New Years’, I’m going to try to post a holiday song each day. You can bet I have a playlist on my iTunes all fired up and ready to go!

Things I Bought That I Love: Embellished Sweater
I spotted this black 3/4 sleeved cardigan at H&M and it was instant attraction. With little gold beads stitched around the back and shoulders, it looked like Tinkerbell had sprinkled some holiday cheer on some unsuspecting goth, or like the cardigan’s wearing a billion earrings…or something like that. The beads were just that unexpected little detail that pushed me over the edge to buy another little black cardigan to add to my collection of little black cardigans.
Throw over your black holiday dress when you wear it with black tights and black ankle boots (haha). Although I don’t typically like to, I will probably tie my hair into a loose chignon or something when I wear it — the back is just way too cool to hide.
Black embellished sweater, H&M. I think it was $24.99.

Zooey Deschanel & Joseph Gordon Levitt - Why Do You Let Me Stay Here
I saw this when it first came out, but for some reason I’m obsessing over it today.

Just got back home. I got two invitations tonight: bowling with friends from high school and salsa dancing with friends from church.
Instead, I helped my parents put up the Christmas tree and am now on my bed, relaxing and watching last week’s episode of Glee on Hulu (since I am too lazy to go downstairs and watch the new episode). It’s only 9:23 pm here, but since that’s after midnight on the East Coast, I’m actually pretty exhausted.
I’m being lazy, which is just what the doctor ordered.
I love vacations.

one day more | les miserables
one day more: another day, another destiny.
I used to love Les Mis. I’ve seen it three times and each time, the high school romantic in me wanted Eponine to get the boy.
The song is appropriate right now: Gotta get through today to leave Maryland and go home tomorrow!

All smiles today even though there’s so much to do — I’m going home in two days!

Beyonce - Halo
We cooled down to this in zumba a couple of weeks ago and since then, it’s been on repeat in my iTunes.
(I can’t believe I wasn’t bumping this in my car when it first came out!)

Star Trek 2009 Gag Reel
So I saw the new Star Trek movie for the first time tonight. (Yeah, I’m super late on this, I know.) The beginning made me cry (!!!) and the “Space: the final frontier” voiceover at the end gave me goosebumps. Overall, extremely entertaining — and there was more than one action sequence where I found myself living vicariously through the characters onscreen.
We watched this gag reel after the movie. My favorite moments: Leonard Nimoy cussing, Zachary Quinto’s “Omigod”s and the last outtake in the reel. Classic.

Before They Were Lady Gaga of the Day: Footage of some nobody named Stephanie Germanotta performing a medley of songs at a 2005 NYU talent showcase surfaced recently on the Internet.
Let me be the first to say, this lady sure can sing. I really hope she makes it.

Incredible. I actually hated “Just Dance”, but after I saw her perform “Poker Face” on American Idol (with the piano at the beginning), I was sold.
Also: Girl has some legit piano skills!
