A plea for help 2.
Hey guys, I just started a twitter for my internship at Manhattan Theatre Club. No one here really gets the whole Internet thing so I kinda need it to be moderately strong for it to work.
I know we all did this last week, but if you are able, please help out and follow our twitter. No, this isn’t for a day off. But I’m an unpaid intern so I think that makes up for getting days off. And reblogging to get a little more exposure would be great too (especially all the ex-MTC interns out there). The feed will be mostly news about our shows and hopefully there will be discounts for tickets also.
So please follow us here and we’ll get you cheap theatre tickets. And you’ll help me look good at work.
Done and done. Please help Mark out if you can!
I’m always down to help a fellow Tumblrite (?). Especially if they’re using social media for arts marketing. :)
Some tips to get followers:
- Follow other theater companies, even if they’re out of state. They’ll most likely follow you back, and it’ll give you an insight into what they’re up to. This is what I did with my organization’s Twitter (@creativemoco), and even though I haven’t tweeted or followed anyone since April (since I technically start work in August), we have followers. I was kind of surprised, not gonna lie.
- Follow any other arts organizations in the city, actually. It can’t hurt, and they might feature you on a Follow Friday.
- Follow any calendar listings or event guides in the city (for example, whatever the New York equivalent of the Philly Fun Guide is) — they might retweet your show announcements!
Good luck!
